Observations and Notes

    • Trends: The attacks vary in nature, from bombings (2010–2013) to military-targeted assaults (2016–2019) and a mix of civilian and tactical strikes (2021–2025). Jammu and Kashmir remains a focal point due to its geopolitical significance, though incidents have occurred across India.

    • Groups Involved: Prominent groups include Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and the Indian Mujahideen, often with alleged external support from Pakistan-based operatives.

    • Data Gaps: Exact figures for total attacks between 2010 and 2025 are hard to pin down due to varying definitions of “major” incidents and incomplete reporting for recent years (2024–2025). The South Asian Terrorism Portal (SATP) and government records suggest thousands of smaller incidents, but this list highlights the most impactful ones.

    • 2024–2025: Beyond the Pahalgam attack, no other widely reported major incidents are confirmed for 2024 or early 2025 as of April 24, 2025, though smaller clashes in Jammu and Kashmir may have occurred.

This list is not exhaustive but captures the most significant terrorist attacks in India over the last 15 years based on casualty tolls, media coverage, and strategic impact. For real-time updates or additional details beyond April 24, 2025, further research would be needed as events unfold. Let me know if you’d like deeper analysis on any specific incident!
