The effort to rescue 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel in Uttarkashi is in its final stages, but there is a possibility of some delay due to the failure of an American auger machine.
Experts have been called from Delhi to repair the machine. 41 ambulances have been deployed at the spot. Arrangements for NDRF team and adequate number of stretchers etc. have been made. The rescue work is being done through pipes on the lines of the film Mission Raniganj, but there is a difference between the two. Where in the film Raniganj the workers were evacuated through vertical pipes, here the rescue work is to be done through horizontal pipes.
There is an update that the machine have been fixed and rescue work have been restarted. As all of you will be aware that the incident took place on 12th November 2023, when whole country was celebrating festival of light “DIWALI”, but there was deep darkness in the 41 families, whose members are stuck in the tunnel collapse.
We hope that coming few hours will bring good news for those 41 workers and their families.
